A €48.8 million renovation project that involved the restoration, transformation and expansion of the historic Museum of Fine Arts in Nantes.
The project incorporates several key buildings for the extension of the 19th century ‘Palais’ and the chapel of the 17th century oratory, with the addition of an exhibition space for contemporary art of 4,000 square metres.
Simeon took care of the “special works” lot, creating a panoramic elevator and full glass entry cases in the historic building.ù
In the new buildings we have developed and built glass casings, window frames, a cable façade and an extension called “sacristy”, made entirely of steel and glass.
For the realization of these architectural objects, ad hoc construction systems were created, such as the cable façade, with steel crossbars (T-shaped) supported by pre-tensioned cables. The panelling consists of double glazing having a slab laminated with marble, which gives the façade a translucent appearance.
