The first tower of Liège is the focal point of an urban redesign project that aims to enhance a degraded area of the city, to make it the new financial centre.
The 28 floors of the tower house the offices of SPF Finances: 1124 employees who live in extremely flexible and modular environments.
The residential buildings that will be built around the tower will have much lower volumes so that the latter stands out on the city skyline making it unique.
The project has received BREEAM certificates of excellence for design and execution.
The single skin unitised façade has been studied in detail, bringing ad hoc design and engineering solutions, such as very high thermal performance and integration of photovoltaic panels into the tower ridge cells. In addition, great attention has been paid to the colour choice of the glass in the opaque panel, in order to achieve a good harmony between vision parts and blind parts.
